Cassie "Official Girl"

Sometimes people ask me if I have a celebrity crush to which I answer no. But if I did...it would be Cassie. For the slow people, Cassie is a Filipino, West Indian, Mexican, and African American singer from Connecticut. She began her career as a model and is now signed to Bad Boy Records. This is the video to her first single off the new project. A version of this song without Lil' Wayne leaked a few months ago. In my opinion, it's better than this version, partly due do Wayne's lackluster verse. I think he's starting to get a bit lazy on his features. Anyway, here's the video and a few pics...enjoy. Below is a copy of the previous version, cuz I know you ain't got it.

Movie Night!! "Into The Wild"

Last week a movie enthusiast friend of mine called and said he had a film that I "had to see". He told me the main character reminded him so much of me, it was eerie. It's called "Into The Wild", and is based on a true story. It was directed by Sean Penn and was nominated for an Oscar earlier this year. If you can stay interested in movies without karate knife fights, car chases, and explosions, you'd like this film. By the way, he was kinda right, the main character WAS a lot like me. Go figure.

Snatch and Grab!

I've never really been a fan of gaudy jewelry, but I must give credit where credit is due. This chain belongs to a MC named Verbal, from the Japanese hip-hop group, The Teriyaki Boyz. This is arguably the coldest chain in the game right now. For his safety, he shouldn't be anywhere near me when the sun goes down.

Santogold!

For those of you who don't know, Santogold is probably my favorite artist right now. She's a Brooklyn raised singer/songwriter who has written for artists such as Res and Gwen Stefani. Her self-titled release, dropped on April 29, 2008. Sonically, the album is a flawless fusion of musical genres, unlike anything I'd previously heard. In my opinion, Santogold and Rick Ross are competing for best album of the year (yeah, I'm saying Trilla was better than the Carter3).To listen to the debut album from Santogold, CLICK HERE. I actually flew from California to NYC last month to catch her free concert in Central Park. True Story.
This was the video for her first single. The song is called L.E.S. Artistes. She has a new video out, I just think this video is a bit fresher.

Movie Night!

The movie is called "The Diving Bell And The Butterfly". If you don't mind subtitles, it was a great movie. Check it out if you have a chance.

Kempi "Wakker in de cel"

Kempi is a rap artist from The Netherlands. The song is dope. Kempi is locked up right now, but you'll get the idea when you watch the video. The world is a ghetto.

Cabane de Zucca!

These are some kicks by a company out of Japan called Cabane de Zucca. I like the metallic colors. Some of ya'll might be scared to rock these, I understand though, everybody can't pull these off. If you happen to be in Tokyo before me, grab me a pair of the silver. Thanks in advance.

I.V.A.N.'s Wine Review

For all my wine enthusiasts out there, the other night I had something you'll enjoy. Its called "SEXTO", a distinctive red wine from Terra Alta, Spain. It gets its name Sexto (sixth) because it is a blend of 6 different grapes. As far as wine drinking goes, I'm probably still a novice, but it was one of the best reds I've ever tasted. Grab a bottle (or 2) if you have the chance.

"Straight Up Menace"

This is a definite west coast classic. MC Eiht, "Straight Up Menace", from the Menace To Society soundtrack. Seeing this video makes me want to watch the movie. Thinking back, it's kinda funny how when the movie came out everybody thought Larenz Tate was gonna be thugged out in real life.

Fly Home Furnishings

It's called 'Paint Or Die But Love Me'. It's a dope table concept by French Designer John Nouanesing. Hella clean.

Workout Music

Boomp3.com

This song is for all my gym rats out there. Throw this shit in the ipod and you start feeling like Rocky. I played this on repeat for my whole workout the other day. It's the first single from DJ Khaled's upcoming album, "We Global". The song is called "Go Hard" and it features Kanye West and T-Pain. I keep saying I'm sick of T-Pain, but he keeps droppin' shit I like, go figure. DJ Khaled's album is scheduled to drop Sept. 16th.

Mellow Yellow

I don't really fuck with too much R&B these days, but if an artist seems like they're trying to think outside the box, I'll give it a try. So, I listened to Solange's new album "Sol-Angel & The Hadley St. Dreams". I can't lie, part of it is because she's been looking kinda good to me lately. She also blows trees and curses in her interviews, which I'm also kinda fond of. So besides her actual vocal talent being a bit sub-par, her album is pretty solid. It has a Motown feel that she seems to pull off effortlessly. I also have to give her credit for putting images of Malcolm X ,Che Guevara, and The Black Panthers in her debut video. Anyway, the album isn't a masterpiece, but definitely solidifies her as someone to watch and moves her a tad bit further out of her sisters shadow. Hopefully she'll like this post and give me a call. If you want to check out the album, CLICK HERE. Get it now, I'm not sure how long the link will last.

Without Backbones Spring '09

"WITHOUT BACKBONES" is a fairly new clothing line created by Robin Graves and Joseph Hodgkinson, both based out of the U.K..They said the spring '09 collection is based on 1990's English suburban fashion. The black satin jacket is the the dopest to me, but I know I'll have to wait till I'm in London to cop it. Poor me.

This is an artist named Madison, with her interpretation of Lil' Waynes "Lollipop"...WoW.
